Our team has more than 25 years’ experience in shock and vibration isolation, vibration absorbing and acoustic engineering in the area of aviation and aerospace, car industry, defense and railways with the current focus on railway tracks, vehicles and steel bridges.

The worldwide high level Research & Development with Railways, Industry partners and Universities results in high performance dampers for noise and vibration reduction.

Since 2013 our latest innovation is installed on railway tracks of operators worldwide to reduce the corrugation growth on the rail surface. Beside the noise reduction at the source this product leads to a dramatic reduction of track maintenance work. They are easy to install and maintenance free with excellent life cycle costs.

Products and services

S+V will showcasing their latest solutions for reducing noise and vibration as well as improving railway track maintenance – both combined in one product. A smart design from the aerospace industry is now adopted for railway operation.

The innovative dampers are showing a high performance when being installed at railway tracks. S+V operates a worldwide unique railway noise R&D laboratory in Germany to develop products with the best effect and efficency. Special track types and operation conditions are also welcome due to individual tuning processes.

We will also showcasing wheel dampers for reducing squealing and rolling noise, applicable for any kind of trains or trams. Especially in urban areas these add-ons are leading to a network-wide noise improvement.

Additionally, local noise impact can be improved by our bridge dampers. Mainly steely bridges are points of high annoying – remember the rumbling noise. These bridges can be upgraded with dampers to avoid huge modifications at the bridge structure itself.

ShimLift - Solution to improve track quality and reduce maintenance costs.

ShimLift is an adjustable rail fastening system, the solution for subsidence’s at concrete and wooden sleepers. Applications are transition zones before and after railway bridges, crossings and between new and old ballast.

The benefits are:

  • adjustment within a millimeter without tamping,

  • reduction of wear on sleepers and ballast,

  • significant reduction of maintenance costs at transition zones,

  • ROI usually 3 years.

  • fast installation and adjustment.

    ShimLift enables heights of up to 30 mm to be corrected.

    This has been found to be sufficient to combat the problem. ShimLift has already been successfully used at numerous crossovers and bridges. It is approved for Railways in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. Other countries are still waiting.
